Dear Friends, We have all witnessed the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. For so many whose lives were impacted, there is a long road ahead. It is at moments like this that we are called upon to look beyond our community to help those in need. Catholic Charities USA is engaged with directing help to the worst hit areas. The Knights of Columbus will be holding a Tootsie Roll Drive at St. Joseph Church on Oct. 19th and 20th. Knights will be at each exit as Mass ends. All donations will go towards helping people with disabilities. Please consider buying a Tootsie Roll.

Starting October 1st through April 30th the Cemetery and Mausoleum will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No flowers or decorations are allowed until November 1st due to the fall clean up. For the winter season, you may have one wreath or flower box per lot, from 11/1 to 4/1. Thank you.

We are in need of office volunteers and financial assistance. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 to 1. We provide diapers, wipes, personal care items to anyone with children. We provide furniture as donated, and clothing from newborn to size 10. We assist families including single parents, married or unmarried couples, foster parents and grandparents. If you can help, please contact Pregnancy Support Services at 413-443-7351.

On Wednesday, October 16th the meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Parish Center.  All are welcome to join us this month as we pray the Rosary.  We hope to see you there!

St. Charles Church is again partnering with Cross Catholic Outreach and their Box of Joy program. These boxes are delivered to children around the world ministering to those suffering from extreme poverty.  Take a box, fill the box with items, return box with your $9 donation. Don’t want to fill a whole box, feel free to donate items on the list and place them in the marked box in the vestibule. We will use these items to fill empty boxes. Individual donations need to be received by November 5th. Don’t want to shop, donate $9 for shipping to help cover the cost. A $9 donation per Box of Joy is required and is crucial for the ministry. Our goal is to fill 50 boxes. Boxes and a list of items to donate will be available in the church.

Beacon of Faith Receptions Held on: Saturday, October 19th after 4pm Mass in the North Chapel. Tuesday, October 22nd at 1pm in the Parish Center. Tuesday October 22nd at 6pm in the Parish Center.

THANKSGIVING ANGELS It is that time of year again. Our Parish of St. Joseph’s has once again been asked to provide the gravy for the upcoming Thanksgiving Angels event. As in the past, our goal is to raise $2500 toward the purchase of the necessary gravy. Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated. The Thanksgiving Angels committee thanks the Parish for its continued support of this event!
