We are making connections AND we are making an impact in the community - you too can be part of this initiative, you can make a difference!! We are anticipating our next training round for volunteers in March. Volunteers are being recruited for the FAMILY PROMISE MENTORING PROGRAM to provide advocacy for individuals or families in need of support to become more self-reliant. Assistance for participants includes identifying goals, stable housing, managing budgets with limited resources, and connecting to community resources. The program is actively enlisting the help of volunteers to become mentors for families with varied dynamics—one or two-parent households, with one or more children. Mentors will receive training and ongoing support to fulfill their role with a willing family. A commitment of one to two hours each week is required. The program offered in partnership with Berkshire Housing Development Corporation and the Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority. If you think you can be a positive influence and make a difference for a local family, contact program coordinator Ida Patella (413) 344-4803.
