Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia This is the day the Lord has made: Let us be glad and rejoice in it. The Holy Gospel John 20:1-9 He had to rise from the dead Our Gospel starts off by saying on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb. As I saw in the South Chapel this morning, memories of our pilgrimage to the Holy Land flooded my mind. I remember praying on Mt Tabor. I walked on the Shepherd's Field in Bethlehem thinking about our Lord's birth. Today my fondest memory was praying at our Lord's tomb. Can you imagine kneeling at the place where they laid His Body. I was overwhelmed. Lord I am not worthy. I remember just steering at that slab. But He was there. I can imagine how Mary left. BUT I knew something that Mary had not yet experienced. I know that Christ rose from the dead and He lives forever. That’s what I celebrate today. This is what you celebrate today. Christ is risen and He is in the hearts of all of us who celebrate today. It’s easy to forget this. Sometime we are more excited about finding jelly beans than we are excited about the fact that my Risen Lord loves me, He suffered for me, He died for me and now He lives with me forever. I have to keep telling myself, we have to keep telling ourselves this truth this wonderful unexplainable truth that our Savior lives. Many of us are still in His tomb. We are scared, we are worried, we are sick. We can’t see the daylight, we can’t see that morning star that never sets (Easter Vigil) but if we do look with eyes of faith, Christ our Risen Lord is calling to us to go and tell the whole world this wonderful Good News that Jesus Christ is risen today. Christ is risen; Indeed He is risen. Yell this, sing this, proclaim this with all your heart. Happy Easter, love. Fr Mike ❤️❤️❤️ Bishop McDonnell writes: Fearful of what was happening, they locked themselves in, afraid they might be next to die. Sounds familiar? It’s not what you might think. It’s part of the Easter story. It’s what the disciples felt and did after Good Friday. But the crucifixion of Jesus is not all there was. Resurrection happened. Easter came. Into that locked room on the first Easter, Jesus cane-with peace, with hope, with life. And He Continues to come. “I am with you always.” So, despite the pandemic, the isolation, the separation, the fear,Jesus is still with us-all of us. May His peace be with you. HAPPY EASTER! And Fr Geoff too writes: May He who calmed the sea and the wind soften our fears in this uncertain tone through our certain faith that He has beaten sin and death, calling us to newness of life. An Easter full of hope to all. Alleluia Our Father........... May we invite the Risen Savior to feed us spiritually with His Holy Body and Blood. Alleluia Blessing: May Easter joy resound in every heart and through every land in Jesus, crucified and risen. ALLELUIA
