“If we could comprehend all the good things contained in Holy Communion, nothing more would be wanting to content the heart of man. The miser would run no more after his treasures, or the ambitious after his glory; each would shake off the dust of earth, leave the world, and fly away towards heaven.” St. John Vianney, Eucharistic Meditations: 9th Meditation.

For a Synodal Church Communion/participation/mission If you had the chance, what question would YOU ask Pope Francis? What question would YOU ask Bishop Byrne? SYNOD 2021/2023- Pope Francis invites all to take part in Synod 2021/2023. The synod invites all peoples throughout the world, and all of us here in western Massachusetts, to reflect on how we're journeying together as a people of God. Consultations will take place in March and April in every parish and hopefully many communities here in western Massachusetts. But we need volunteers to assist in planning, facilitating, note taking, hosting, hospitality and communications outreach. If you would like to learn more and/or volunteer let your pastor know or email or call 413 452-0571. You can also learn more about this worldwide synod including some informational videos by logging onto www.diospringfield.org/synod.

“Go to Communion to receive the graces which you need… For if you communicate often and worthily, your thoughts, your desires, your actions, and all your undertakings will have the same end as those of Jesus Christ when He was on earth. You will love God, you will be touched by your neighbor’s troubles, spiritual and temporal, and you will not think for a moment of attaching yourselves to earth; henceforth in heart and mind you will live only for heaven.” St. John Vianney, Eucharistic Meditations:13th Meditation.
