Ash Wednesday through Pentecost Sunday, June 5th. Our goal is $35,000. The 2022 Annual Catholic Appeal is underway in Western Mass. As you consider a gift, sacrifice, you should take time to know how your donation is used. Read the brochure and learn about the service agencies and ministries of the diocese that rely on support from the ACA to do the work of Jesus Christ in the world today. It helps to feed the hungry, protect the unborn, to educate: children, adults, and future priests. It supports our youth as they grow in faith, cares for the dying and those who grieve. Your gift puts your Catholic faith into action in western Massachusetts. Please prayerfully consider giving. Thank you.

Journeying Together through the Synod What do the Consultations Look Like? Synod consultation sessions take around 90- 120 minutes and follow a method of Spiritual Conversation. This method is based on a form of “communal apostolic discernment” that began with the Society of Jesus and has been in use for more than 500 years. It has a few steps: ▪ Begin with prayer and listening to the Divine Word ▪ Reflect on the experience of the Gospel and on your own experience ▪ Share your experience in a small group; listen closely to each others’ stories. ▪ Sit in silence to reflect on all you have heard. ▪ Share on what moves you, resonates with you. ▪ Sit in silence to pay attention to your inner thoughts. ▪ Talk about how the Holy Spirit may be prompting us. If you would like to participate in a synod consultation session, we invite you to come and share a piece of your own story of journeying with the Church and to learn from the experiences of others, both good and bad. Each of us comes with the hope of improving the way we journey together.
St Joseph's is going to be having a "PARISH BABY SHOWER" to collect items for Bethlehem House which assist women who have chosen life instead of abortion for their babies. Since the "40 Days For Life" Campaign MANY BABIES HAVE BEEN BORN! But their supplies are low and they are reaching out to parishes in the Diocese to help with that. With Monsignor's blessing we are going to advertise this event through the month of April to give people a chance to learn about Bethlehem House and to help buy needed items, and then in May to remind parishioners that I will be collecting and delivering items May 31st.
Please remove all decorations by Friday, April 1st. Two movable plain containers of live flowers are permitted from Mother's Day (May 8th) to Labor Day (September 5th). For the safety of our mowing crew, containers with prongs or glass will not be permitted. Starting May 1st our cemetery gate and Mausoleum will be open from 8 am to 8 pm.

Listening can Change Hearts & Minds. The goal of synod listening is not data gathering or problem-solving. It is not focused on debating the controversial issues of the day or complaining. It is primarily a spiritual exercise, rooted in prayer. Everyone has something to share. Everyone has something to learn. Listening to each other and to the Holy Spirit can change our attitudes, illuminate our understandings, and guide our behavior. It can change us! Pope Francis hopes this listening will “plant dreams, a way of being Church that remains faithful to the truths of our faith but allows us to pastorally respond anew to the needs of the present time. March 13, 2022 - YEAR OF THE EUCHARIST Many Christians take their time and have leisure enough in their social life (no hurry here). They are leisurely, too, in their professionally activities, at table and recreation (no hurry here either). But isn’t it strange how those same Christians find themselves in such a rush and want to hurry the priest, in their anxiety to shorten the time devoted to the most holy sacrifice of the altar? (St. Josemaria Escriva). For more information and videos check out www.yearoftheeucharist.net
