A FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council #103 will be held on Sunday, June 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Parish Center. Msgr. Eugene F. Marshall Council #103 is accepting applications for our academic and Career and Technical Education Scholarship Program. Each year we award one academic and one career and technical education scholarship in the amount of $500.00. The Parish Council had its final meeting for this year on April 30, 2023. Jim Armstrong and Sharyn Fresia finished their time in office and the parish is grateful for their service. Officers for next year are Mark Brennan, Chairperson; Bernadette Scapin, Vice Chairperson, and Catherine Van Bramer volunteered to continue in her role as Secretary. New members to the Council are Tom Arasimowicz, Mike Garvey, Kathleen Oakes, and Tim Supranowicz. Thank you for your willingness to serve our parish. Meetings will resume in the fall.
St. Agnes Academy in Dalton is now enrolling Pre-K 3- and 4-year-olds for the 2023-2024 Academic year. Children that are 2.9 years old as of September 1, 2023, are eligible to enroll. Enrollment is also open for students in grades K-8. Bus transportation from 5 locations in Pittsfield is available for Pre-K through grade 8. Weather permitting, we will celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi with a Eucharistic Procession and Adoration at the conclusion of the 9 a.m. Mass on June 11th. The procession will proceed from the church to the Parish Center where Benediction will be concluded. Everyone is welcome to process with the Eucharistic Sacrament in prayer and devotion.
The monthly Holy Hour will be held following the 9 o’clock Mass on May 28th. Benediction will take place and the St. Anne Society will be leading the recitation of the rosary. Do consider coming to spend a few extra minutes praying in the presence of Christ.

Starting May 14th decorations of two movable plain containers of live flowers will be allowed until Labor Day. No artificial flowers, glass containers, solar lights, shepherd hooks, statues, or items with prongs. Please join us on Monday, May 29th at 11 a.m. for a Memorial Day mass at our Mausoleum chapel. As always, all are welcome.
The Polish picnic is the largest fundraiser for the church. We need many volunteers to prepare the food. The next 2 dates for cooking pierogi are June 10th and 17th starting @ 10:00. We will also be steaming the cabbage on Tuesday, July 11th and cooking golumpki & kapusta on July 13th and 14th -all starting @ 9:00 in the parish center. Picnic meeting Wed. June 7th @ 6:30 in the parish center to discuss volunteer sign-ups and any other tasks that need to be completed.
Pregnancy Support Services is so very grateful to chairperson Carolyn Rousseau and the parishioners of St. Joseph’s Church for the very generous $929 realized in the Mothers’ Day Rose Sale. The agency is able to provide much needed help to the many clients, walking through the doors at 34 Depot St. in Pittsfield. There is a need for new board members and/or help in aiding young mothers to fulfill their needs during the office hours of 10 -1, Mondays through Thursdays. There is still a great request for strollers and large sized diapers. Call 443-7351 for information.

ST. ANNE'S MEETING May 17th at 6:00 p.m. This promises to be a sweet and entertaining one! Sharon Vincent has agreed to come show us how to decorate cookies and cupcakes! Sharon is well known around the area, as well as St. Joseph Church, for raising this activity to an art form! We will be able to enjoy our attempts at refreshment time, mistakes and all. Please join us as our season gets off to a good start. A sneak preview of next month --Father Robert will be our guest speaker, and we will collect diapers for Pregnancy Support Services that month. Our attendance last month was very good--hope to see you all back again!
St. Agnes Church in Dalton is sponsoring a Rosary Rally, Saturday, May 27th, at noon, in front of the Church, to honor Our Blessed Mother in this, her month of May. We ask for her intercession in healing our country and ask God to bestow his beneficent blessings on all.
We will be welcoming Bishop Byrne on Sunday, May 21st. Confirmation candidates will be confirmed at the 11:30 Mass. Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation that bring someone fully into Christ’s body. Its reception unleashes the full power of the Holy Spirit marking the beginning of one’s adult faith journey.
Thank you to everyone who came this past Saturday to make pierogi. Again, we had many new faces and have made 2,000 cheese pierogi to date. Next cooking dates are Sat, May 13th and May 20th @ 10:00.
We are pleased to resume our annual Mothers’ Day rose sale after an absence of 3 years! Several lovely colors will be offered, for an offering of $2 each at St. Joseph's Church on May 13th after 4 p.m. mass and on Mother's Day after 9 a.m. and 11:30 masses. All money received will help the agency to continue in its service to its many clients. We are also short of strollers; all kinds, including umbrella strollers.
